'Interference' is here!
System hacked. Covers blown. The CIU is offline.
With the team deep undercover investigating the notorious Titan Syndicate, Khali discovers a massive security breach in the CIU network. The entire team’s identities are out in the open and a mysterious hacker is interfering with the CIU’s surveillance and communications, preventing Khali and Rebecca from warning the undercovers.
Oblivious to the threat, Moreland, Jesse, Daniel, and Maria carry out their covert “plays,” while Khali and Rebecca resort to extreme measures and enlist the help of an outsider to steer the team out of deadly circumstances. That outsider is you.
CTV announced the launch of its latest original interactive digital series “Interference,” a multi-platform spin-off of CTV’s new original undercover cop drama “Played.”
Available exclusively on CTV’s digital platforms, including CTV.ca/Interference and on the CTV Go App, “Interference’s” six original episodes are now available, allowing viewers to immediately engage with the series in its entirety. From interactive agency Secret Location “Interference” is partially financed by The Bell Fund.
The new interactive digital drama has “Played’s” C.I.U. (Covert Investigations Unit) team at risk as Khali (Agam Darshi) discovers a massive security breach in the C.I.U. network.
“Interference” prompts viewers to get involved and interact with the series, triggering advancements in the story and becoming a key character in the plot.
“Interference” is CTV’s latest digital spin-off reflecting the network’s commitment to companion digital series. In 2013, CTV premiered “Double Date with…Death” (THE LISTENER) and “Last Call” (SAVING HOPE), as well as “The Dark Corner” (MOTIVE) across its digital platforms.
“‘Interference’ is part of CTV’s ongoing strategy to extend the viewer experience by providing fans with innovative and interactive opportunities to further engage with CTV Original Programming,” said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, Programming, CTV Networks.
“The action-packed world of ‘Played,’ one that is full of split-second decisions, lent itself perfectly to creating a spin-off using the latest technology in interactive digital series.”
“Interference” is a chance for viewers to dive into the world of “Played” and help the C.I.U. agents extract themselves from a series of high-stakes plays. Each episode follows undercover team members into the criminal underworld as they look to bring down the notorious Titan Syndicate, and when things go sideways, it’s up to viewers to intervene.
In order for the plot to advance, viewers must interact with the episodes using their cell phones and text messages and their Facebook profile so they can connect to the team. But as each team member is brought to safety, it becomes apparent that the Syndicate’s reach goes deeper than ever expected, and interfering with them has dangerous consequences for everyone involved.
