Just finished it last night, loved it! I understand now why it's often cited as one of the best FMV game out there. The setting in Germany was brilliant and the music hauntingly beautiful. I especially loved Grace and her relationship with Gabriel and the link to Ludwig, of which I had just recently watched a documentary. The whole opera scene was just icing on the cake, what a beautifully shot piece of the story.

it's a damn shame that the java based dosbox online is no more. that site has a bunch of old 90s fmv games that allows you to play online without cd or rigging the system. games like tex murphy under a killing moon , frankenstein , phantasmogria , darkseed ii , nighttrap etc.

It'd be so nice to be able to find all old FMV games in one place, but at least you can still buy a couple of them on Steam and GOG. I'd really like to play Dracula: Unleashed myself.

For Dracula Unleashed I'd recommend the PC or Sega CD version over the later-released DVD. The DVD wasn't able to use the same music in key parts and it's pretty noticeable. Although if you never played the earlier version then I guess it's not noticeable at all, lol. But I think the earlier version is the more "full" experience. Finding a Sega CD rom for it is probably pretty easy.

I agree. Although the DVD version has better video quality, I think the Sega CD version has better game mechanics and the orchestral music on the CD version really sets the mood. ...and with the DVD version costing $499 on eBay, the choice becomes a lot easier.

I hope it pops on GOG someday, I don't like roms much. And I don't have 500 $ to fork .

the difference between dvd and the other version is that the dvd couldn't get the rights to the music o fortuna by carl orff so they went with a similiar and generic knock off music score instead www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Kn5k1pFxgw

Years ago , back before infinite ventures went debunct, i actually considered getting the dvd for dracula. heck if i knew how much it sells now, i would bought lots of it.

Well, holy crap. Had to join this forum after I saw this post. I actually have this. I had no clue it was worth that much. I've got one of the Sherlock's on DVD as well.
