I'm starting a topic on 3am since in theory it should be released in about four months. I don't know if it's going to be the case, since it has been a while since the last update. I very much hope it will be made, since I adored Contradiction. I'd very much appreciate it if someone has any news. I've sent two emails already but got no answer.

Not long after I started this topic, the website stopped working. So it might seem that this project is dead, sadly.

No kidding; Contradiction is probably my favorite modern FMV. And now we probably won't have a sequel to Contradiction or a new game from its creator. I'm really bummed.

Great news! Baggy Cat is back online and it looks like "3AM" is releasing later this year under the title "At Dead of Night." SYNOPSIS: At Dead Of Night is a horror game set in an old hotel, situated on a remote headland. When a group of students find themselves lost one night, they decide to book in. There they meet Jimmy Hall, the creepy landlord, who invites them to watch his late night comedy show. However, when Maya, the last student to arrive, turns him down, Jimmy's rage releases his psychopathic comedy alter-ego, Hugo Punch, who takes control. Late that night Maya is woken by the scream of one of her friends somewhere in the hotel. Realising they're all in danger, Maya attempts to rescue her friends, but soon realises that there is more to this hotel than meets the eye. To save her friends, she will have to confront and communicate with the ghosts of Jimmy's past and uncover his terrifying secret. Sea View Hotel will open for bookings later this Autumn. Check in if you dare!Available on Steam for Windows and Mac, late 2019.

I just checked the website and At Dead of Night is now planned to release "in the new year" instead of in late 2019. It's kind of frustrating since the game keeps changing but there is no way to communicate with the developers. I'd like to show them my support but they are not making it easy.
On the plus side they are now releasing the game "initially" on Steam, so maybe they are planning to release it on consoles?
padmore, would it be possible to rename the title of the thread with "At Dead of Night"?

Until we see a trailer and solid release date I'm assuming it's still in development.
Have you tried emailing "admin[at]baggycat.com"?

You're probably right. I wish they weren't so vague though. I did email them and never got an answer. Same thing happened for the new Ted Murphy game. Wondering the point of having email addresses if you never answer
Thanks for changing the topic title!

Hey! I loved Contradiction too and would love to see a sequel. Have you played Shapeshifting Detective? It’s a different developer but a lot of the same actors. It’s not quite as good as contradiction but still quite interesting.

I did play and I liked it, though not as much as Contradiction or Tesla Effect. Have you tried Dr Dekker from the same studio?

Was just looking into this... at the top of his website there's a "Covid 19 update". If you click on it you'll get a drop-down with an explanation to what's going on with the developer and he says it's just him basically doing everything and he'll release as soon as it's done. Considering the virus situation and the fact that he's got kids, seems he's struggling to find the time (I can relate).

Hi,
Just stumbled on this thread - I'm the one making At Dead Of Night so I thought I'd offer some clarity and apology! I've basically been through a ton of different concepts with this game over the last 3-4 years and just couldn't make any work, so it's been a very stop-start process, but last year I finally got a concept I liked working and have been working on that ever since, but it's taken just forever to do it, partly because it's easily the most complex project I've ever worked on by far and partly because I've had lots of other things (i.e. other work and kids) to steal my time! But it'll finally be out in a couple of days for Windows - Mac version is causing me grief due to a combination of Apple's ridiculous new security requirements and partly the Steam process, so I'm still trying to get that working.
I'm continually amazed people liked Contradiction and I really hope people like At Dead Of Night too, it's a very different game but does have some similarities.
Sorry for not replying to emails too, that was partly due to my dodgy service provider and partly me not setting it up properly - and me being completely ADHD and having zero organisational skills (which doesn't help my programming!)
Anyway, yeah - hope you like the game!
Cheers,
Tim
